R.L. Weber (American, 1967-) was born to a middle-class family in Arlington Heights, Illinois.  Early on in life, he gravitated to the arts and nature through his family outings into the wilderness and nurtured by his mother, who is a musician and photographer. He attended Northern Illinois University and graduated with a Bachelor of Fine Arts, emphasis in Illustration, in 1989. He apprenticed at a commercial art studio in downtown Chicago and after only 6 months ventured into the freelance illustration field. While maintaining studio space in Chicago, he illustrated for numerous major clientele including Anheuser-Busch, Phillip-Morris, Kraft, McDonald's, Coca-Cola, Quaker Oats and many others. R.L. illustrated numerous children's books in his career including for Walt Disney, Warner Brothers, Ludorum, Soft Play Books, and XYZ Publishing.

An award winning artist, R.L. Weber is concentrating on fine art painting en plein air and in his studio in Belvidere, Illinois, where he resides with his wife and 3 children. He has exhibited in numerous group and one-man shows around the country and tutors individuals and groups alike.
