Susan Anne Russell

Susan Anne Russell is originally from NYC and spent her childhood studying classical ballet, violin and attending The Met. Her current studio is situated on a lake outside of Chicago. Having sold work to collectors in Italy, Florida, California and Chicago, her art ranges from small intimate paintings to large commissioned murals. Touring Rome and Paris, Susan returned with a unique aesthetic, balancing the inner spirit and the material world. Susan's paintings attempt to explore voyages through epiphany and fantasy.

In 2017 Susan was Judge at The Annual Festival of the Arts, held at the Cook Mansion. Highpoints is her career include Solo Shows: 2020 Ethereal Dreams- at The North Shore Art League in Winnetka, Reaching for The Sublime at The Woodstock Opera House-2018, Dreamscapes at The David Adler Mansion– 2012, Aphrodite at The Oxala Gallery in the Pilsen Art District- 2008, with consistent gallery exhibits in group shows. Susan is adjunct Professor of Art History and Performing Arts. She has been on the painting faculty at The Highland Park Art Center and The Adler Center. Her Textbook on Performing Arts is shelved at the University libraries of Harvard and Yale, as well as International Universities and museums. Her paintings are published in nationally distributed art books, and her work is featured in a poetry book.
